Sending Hugs: Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge

Not being able to see friends and family and share hugs has been one of the toughest experiences of this entire pandemic. Thankfully, our family is coming out of this, as we have been getting to fully vaccinated status across our family households, so hugs are coming back with a vengeance!

On the other hand, there are people who I can't hug simply because they're far away. Sending a hug in an envelope isn't quite the same, but at least it helps.

Rainbow Big Hugs

For the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge, I used the My Favorite Things Cascading Rainbow die. I cut it several times from a rainbow of Gina K Designs card stock: Red Velvet, Tangerine Twist, Wild Dandelion, Lucky Clover, Blue Raspberry, Wild Wisteria, and Wild Lilac.

I adhered the stripes to my card panel and covered all of them with Tonic Aqua Shimmer pen. I then trimmed the panel to be 4" by 5.25", popped it up on foam tape, and adhered it to a top folding A2 notecard made from Wild Dandelion card stock.

Using the Hero Arts Big Hugs die and stamp set, I cut Big Hugs three times from white card stock and once from white glitter card stock and layered them together for dimension. I used a strong liquid adhesive to adhere it to my panel. I then stamped "to my favorite person" across the rainbow below.

This wonderful rainbow die let me make seven rainbow panels for cards. I have another couple of them turned into cards so far:

I used a happy birthday die and shadow from Simon Says Stamp for the happy birthday card. For the notecard on the right, I used a stamp set from Dare 2B Artzy for the wonderful sentiment and used a cloud die from that set to cut clouds from white glitter card stock, stacked for dimension.

Rainbows are certainly a happy backdrop for a card! I couldn't feel anything but happy when I was working on these. That's a blessing since our driveway is currently completely demolished by a contractor who is supposed to be replacing it--but we're getting worried he's flaking out on us. The drive is a "Jeep parking only" zone right now--we've become the neighborhood eyesore. Cross your fingers that the happy rainbow cards I have yet to create keep my spirits up through this week!
